The United States Postal Service is an independent agency of the federal government. It is unique in two ways, first that it is one of the few government agencies specifically authorized by the Constitution, and secondly, that less than 5% of the Postal Service budget comes from tax related revenues.
They sustain themselves through the revenue they generate, which has led them to adopt other more typical corporate practices like employee based benefit management. The United States Postal Service (USPS) uses a system called “LiteBlue” to allow their employees to manage their USPS account and payroll online.
With LiteBlue, you can log on to change your payroll information, tax deduction amounts, and manage your retirement and employment investment accounts. LiteBlue also opens the door to an entire online learning and service environment designed for postal workers. Here you can find out ways to enhance your career, increase your opportunities, find and apply for open positions as well as access USPS products and services at an employee discount.
LiteBlue also allows you access to PostalEase. During the open enrollment season, you can change your benefits options and plan. It is important to note that while you have full year access to PostalEase, changes may only be made during the open season.
